Issa Rae Launches Black & Unlimited Program With Walmart

Issa Rae continues to put Black content creators first with her latest collaboration. Rae's media company Hoorae Media partnered with Walmart to develop the Black & Unlimited Digital Development Program Creator Courses.

With projects like Awkward Black Girl, HBO's Insecure, and Rap Shit. Rae has become the birth child of creating, then building not just for herself but her community. The Black & Unlimited Digital Development Program will provide mentorship from top industry professionals and content creators courses for the next generation of Black creators.

The first cohort includes Alex Hill, Amanda S. Wicks, Archie Jay, Brelynn Hunt, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Destiny Aaiyana, Mariah Jae, Chef Shaiheem, and Tyris Winter. “With the support of the Black & Unlimited Digital Development initiative, the selected creators will expand their brands and develop their voices in our underrepresented industry," Rae said in a statement.

Along with top-notch mentorship, each participant receives a $10k stipend, travel to Los Angeles for the Black & Unlimited Creator Weekend, and a custom library of Raedio music for future projects! Lastly, cohorts will star in exclusive Black & Unlimited content on Walmart’s YouTube channel.

D.J. Vaughn director of Multicultural Media Partnerships at Walmart expressed her enthusiasm for the project stating, “We are excited to collaborate with HOORAE for the first time to provide Black Creators with the tools, resources, and education they need to be successful through this innovative program. There’s so much more to being a creator than developing content and sharing it with the world."
