After eight long and beautiful seasons, Blackish is coming to an end! The history-breaking ABC sitcom is finishing off its run after bringing critical conversations to television screens for years, topics that included racism, elitism, colorism, Black history, women's issues, poverty, and more!


Sistas - January 5th - BET

BET Sistas is back for season four of the series and of course its still plenty of drama happening this season. Will the ladies get closer to resolving their issues this season? Only time will tell what lies ahead for Andrea, Daniella, Karen, Sabrina, and Jasmine. Watch the series on BET on Wednesdays at 9/8c.


Women Of The Movement - January 6th - ABC and Hulu

In this anthology series Women of the Movement, we see the story of courageous women that helped mold the civil right movement told through their lens. The series starts off with the story of Emmett Till told through the eyes of his mother Mamie Till-Mobley. The story has been told countless time but this time we get to see the humanity and the struggles that this family faced during the 1950s.


The Kings of Napa - January 11th - OWN and HULU

A new scripted series comes to OWN this winter, The Kings of Napa! The King’s wine business has brought the family much success but what do the three heirs to the throne do when their King is no longer running the shots? Tune into the series Tuesdays at 8/7c.


Naomi - January 11th - The CW

Executive produced by Ava Duvernay this new comic, drama series stars Kaci Walfall as a teen superhero who is learning to control her new superpowers, but of course there is always opposition and an evil power that wants to control these new powers. Tune into the series on Tuesdays and catch the free version streaming on the CW the next day.


Safe Room - January 15th - Lifetime

Making his directorial debut Boris Kodjoe is bringing us Lifetime's Safe Room and of course he had to have his partner in crime along for the ride! Nicole Ari Parker stars in this new thriller about a mother that is trying to protect her autistic son after he witnesses and records their neighbors murder. Safe Room premieres Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 8/7c







Vanished: Searching For My Sister - January 22nd - Lifetime

The month of January brings two Black thrillers to LIfetime, the second being Vanished: Searching for My Sister starring Tatyana Ali, Justin Bruening, Jasmine Guy, Carolyn Hennesy, and Anthony “Treach” Criss. Following the lives of twin sister, Jayda and Kayla, both played by Ali. The sisters are complete opposites, Jada living a simple life with a regular office job while Kayla is the wild spirit secretly living another life. When Kayla goes missing Jada takes things into her own hands to find her sister and learns a lot more about Kayla's life than she expected. The Lifetime thriller premieres Saturday, January 22nd at 8/7c.


Neymar: The Perfect Chaos - January 25th - Netflix

Beloved worldwide but also a lightning rod for criticism, Neymar shares the highs and lows of his personal life and football career.


Chosen - January 27th - Netflix

Chosen on Netflix is a new sci-fi mystery that follows the life of 17 year old, Emma, who immerses herself into a mysterious secret in her Danish town and finds an earth shattering truth about her own identity.


Janet - January 28th - Lifetime

Finally, the documentary for the iconic singer and actress Janet Jackson is here! This two-night special on Lifetime shows the life of Janet Jackson from her upbringing to being molded into a child star, to later finding her independence and taking her life and career in her own hands. Special cameos by Whoopi Goldberg, Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey, Tyler Perry, and more will be seen!
